  1. LaVerne Furbert says:

I am not surprised to read this at all. I saw the play and I just knew that Bermuda would win the competition. Congratulations to Dr. Kim Dismont Robinson!!

    • I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the organizers, the cast performers and all their chaperons, and Dr.Kim Dismont Robinson for a performance second to none.

Our Children are our future and through the performance and art they bring us world class stage theatrics, with reality of how far we have come as a people, especially with the likes of our public school students combined with our private school student’s, that is unity within itself.

So i salute you all but had to respond to Ms. Laverne Furbert who seemingly just thought it necessary to thank Dr. Kim Dismont Robinson, who clearly did a outstanding job, but it would have been nice if Ms. Furbert could have paid recognition to our performers.

So I hope she comes back to Bernews and add onto her remark’s to congratulate all who participated, and to say that she knew that Bermuda would win was in my view another dumb comment, due to the fact that, all the performances was of great quality. so Bermuda did well and we are proud but all the young people who who participated regardless of origin, did extremely well. Ask me how I know

Thank You Bernews once again for highlighting some of the positives that is going on in our community and abroad with our young people, we have some good young folk still in our country and positive future role models to look forward to.

  2. Opinions says:

Congrats to all who participated and was part of bringing this together. I’d love to see the performance in Bermuda if the opportunity ever presented itself.

  3. The Skink says:

@Laverne: How didi you know Bermuda would win? Didi you see the other entrants work? I know and you know that the Bermuda entry was a strong one and that is all we know.

    • Darling says:

@skink. It is a crying shame that your comment on a positive story about Bermuda’s youth, is to respond snidely to L. Furbert. Jeez Grinch much? I WENT to the performances in Barbados, saw the performances and I also KNEW by the quality of BDAs performance that they would win. All of the entrants did an admirable job, but our source material, directors and actors were of such high quality that they were literally a tough act to beat…pun intended. Second to seeing Bermuda perform was the pride of to sitting in the audience and see the Bermudian expats in Barbados that came out on droves to support their fellow countrymen. Well done all around.

  4. Quinton Stovell says:

Well done ALL. We are so proud of your commitment and pursuit of excellence. I think it is rare for a group of this size to be assembled and remain such a harmonious unit. The spirit of this ensemble is exuded in their performance. I am grateful that my daughter Ashanti has been blessed with this opportunity to represent Bermuda.GIVE THANKS.

  5. enough says:

  6. WhistleBlower says:

    Well done to ALL involved!!

We Have the talent to do even BIGGER things BERMUDA!!!

  7. Winnie Dread says:

Congrats to all involved always good seeing the positives of the youth being highlighted. There were a few other categories which to me seemed to be almost the same but with different names which was won by other countries eg

    Best Overall Performance
    Best Ensamble Acting
    Most Creative Presentation
    Best Set Design
    Outstanding Actress Award
    Outstanding Director

Or I guess they had outstanding then best in order of ascendancy??
