Photos & Results: Friendship Semi-Final Match

The second round of the Friendship semi-finals took place today [Dec 27] at the North Village Community Centre where Dandy Town Hornets defeated PHC Zebras 3-2 after extra time and will see the Hornets advance to the Friendship final.

This match was a see-saw battle right from the start with end to end action. In the 35th minute Shakir Smith scored from close range when the Dandy Town Hornets goalkeeper Mikkail Crockwell failed to hold on to a cross and Smith was on hand to finish.

Two minutes later Damon Ming would level the match at 1 – 1 when he scored from the penalty spot after the PHC Zebras goalkeeper Daniel Adams fouled Dandy Town Hornets striker Angelo Simmons in the box.

On the stroke of half time, Smith had a chance to restore the PHC Zebras lead after a foul in the box resulted in a penalty but Crockwell saved Smith’s spot kick to his right.

Ming gave the Dandy Town Hornets the lead in the 57th minute when he converted from the penalty spot for the second time in the match. Thirteen minutes after going down to 10 men when Tre Ming was sent off, Ryan Hassell scored in the 88th to draw the PHC Zebras level thus sending the game into extra time.

In the 104th minute the Dandy Town Hornets would go back in front again when Clay Darrell found the back of the net. His strike would prove to be the winner as the Dandy Town Hornets advance to meet Robin Hood in the Friendship final on New Years Day.
