Bermudian actor Nicholas Christopher is getting set to join the cast of a production of Band Geeks in Concert.
The show, which will also star Ben Platt, Lindsay Mendez, and Patti Murin, will take place at Broadway supper club 54 Below today [Jan 18].
BroadwayWorld.com says, “Band Geeks features music by Mark Allen, Gaby Alter, and Tommy Newman, lyrics by Alter and Newman, and a book by Gordon Greenberg and Newman.
“It has been seen at NAMT, Goodspeed, and in regional productions all over the country. “With just nine members and dwindling funds, the Cuyahoga High Marching Beavers are close to extinction.
“When a troubled athlete is relegated to their ranks, Elliott, the tuba-playing band captain and Laura, his best friend, must find a way to unite the band, embrace their inner geek, and save the Marching Beavers.
“This one-night-only concert presentation will be directed by Lorin Latarro, music directed by Jacob Yates, and is produced by Shoshana Feinstein.”
Mr. Christopher’s family includes father Ed Christopher, Hamilton’s Town Crier, and brother Jonathan, who is also known for his on-stage performances.
The actor recently took on the role of musical legal Smokey Robinson in a production of “Motown the Musical,” going so far as to perform the role in front of the legend himself.
