Evolution Fashion Show Moved To Ruth Seaton

July 11, 2015

Due to expected weather conditions, tonight’s [July 11] Bermuda Fashion Festival Evolution Retail Show is being moved from City Hall car park to the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium at CedarBridge Academy.

“Weather warnings, and a forecast for a high chance of rain and wind gusts have led organizers to move the show indoors for safety reasons, to Ruth Seaton James auditorium at CedarBridge Academy,” the City said.

“As seating is limited indoors, the show will be a ticketed event only and tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets can be bought online at www.ptix.bm for $50.00,” the City added.

“All current VIP and Patron ticket holders will be allowed entry as usual, times remain the same [doors open 6.30pm for a 7.30pm show] only the venue has changed.”

The Bermuda Fashion Festival started with the Hair and Beauty show on July 7, continued with the Local Designer Show on July 8, the Local Designer Trunk Show and International Designer Show on July 9, the “Girlfriends Getaway 2” red carpet event on July 10, and culminates with the Evolution Retail Show tonight. You can view all our coverage of the Bermuda Fashion Festival here.

Is there going to be more then one show?

  2. Curious says:

So all the young children and parents that wanted to go now have to pay $50?? Wow.

  3. wow says:

They went from free to $50? Surely there could have been a middle ground… smh it was a wonderful free family event that would have had a great turn out….. not so sure about now… Bermudians have braved a few sprinkles for less! Good luck with that!

  4. Are you serious? says:

You people have got to be kidding me!!! Do you not realize how many people want to come to the show and would love to see the show and because of the “bad” weather you move it? Who the hell is paying $50?? This is not smart at all… But that’s Bermuda for you. SMFH.

  5. Are you serious? says:

Furthermore this isn’t no top World Class fashion show!!! You act like these models are professional… All they did was write their names on a piece of paper…. But without them their isn’t a show, and the parents and friends that have lent them to you people to MAKE the show don’t get to watch because you want to charge $50…. As far as I’m concerned you should be paying them and their parents for being there when they could be home with their families or hanging with their friends… AGAIN I SAY…. THEY ARE DOING YOU GUYS A FAVOR!!!!

There’s that air of entitlement again, that we locals are so famous for. Funny.

And by the way, the house was packed with more folk trying to get in, so…

  6. Golden child says:

If the weather is fair they will run the show again at the original venue city hall car park with an early start in the afternoon I’m made to understand I hope so would be nice to see it at that location must be stressful for all the staff and models to try to relocate they all have worked so hard

  7. ? says:

    Free to $50?! NONSENSE!!!

  8. Dangel says:

Was this not free when it was going to be at City Hall?

  9. observer says:

You can not control mother nature. I guess all you people would have wanted the models to put their self in danger and walk down a wet and slippery run way. Hopefully post this event they will factor in a continuity plan for inclement weather next year.

  10. Golden child says:

Sorry! run it again in the early afternoon meaning Sunday
    Afternoon

  11. Common Sense Talking says:

I know the cost of renting Ruth Seaton-James auditorium is ridiculous but they could have gone a little lower but they may not have been working with a healthy budget so couldn’t afford to take a loss. But if the house was packed they came out pretty clean! With cash to spare!
