21-Year-Old Man Dies After Warwick Collision

[Updated - Police confirm the 21-yr-old rider has tragically succumbed to his injuries]

A motorcyclist was injured and hospitalized tonight [Dec 26] after the bike he was riding and a car collided at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass Warwick.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 6:20pm, police and EMT’s attended a two vehicle collision which occurred at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass Warwick.

“Although the full details surrounding this collision are unclear at this time, it was reported that a male cyclist collided with a male driving a motorcar traveling in the opposite direction.

“The cyclist was taken to KEMH and at last check was being treated for non-life threatening leg injuries. The male driving the motorcar was not injured in the collision.

Update 2.27am, Dec 27: A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm that a 21 year old Southampton man, who was involved in a traffic collision yesterday [26-Dec-2015] at the junction of Middle Road and Khyber Pass Warwick, has tragically succumbed to his injuries.

“A full investigation into this fatal collision is underway and no further information will be given until the next of kin has been informed.

“We are urging any witnesses to this fatal collision that have not already come forward to contact the Roads Policing Unit on telephone number 247-1230.”
