PALS Set To Host “Mad Hair Day” On Sept 16
P.A.L.S. – Bermuda’s home care cancer charity – will be holding its fifth annual Mad Hair Day fundraising event on Friday, September 16.
Schools, businesses, clubs, organizations and friends are invited to join the fun by donating $5 to wear their hair in a “mad or crazy way” for the day.
There are two options to participate: make a $5 donation and wear your hair in a “mad or crazy way” for the day to support cancer care in Bermuda; or buy a $35 ticket for the after party at Docksider Pub and Restaurant at 6.00pm, with DJ Mikey B, Twin Starr and Julzz performing.
All in attendance will receive a welcome drink beverage from Burrows Lightbourne, with happy hour drink prices from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, free social box photos, raffles and mad hair wigs for Sale, and prizes for best Mad Hair Day efforts.
A spokesperson said, “Please wear your hair in a mad or crazy way and donate to P.A.L.S., our annual expenses are now in excess of $1.45 million and we need your support. In order to participate, you must register your company or group.

“P.A.L.S. is a registered charity founded in 1980 to provide professional hands on care and support to cancer patients primarily in their own homes.
“P.A.L.S. provides the following services free of charge to cancer patients and their families: nursing assessment and treatment such as pain and symptom management; psychosocial support – counseling and bereavement support; loan of medical equipment – hospital beds, wheel chairs etc; free or at cost medical supplies; free or at cost food supplements such as Ensure drinks; assistance with overseas medical travel; and assistance with medication costs.”
