May 16, 2018

[Updated] The management of Docksider has confirmed that an “incident” took place at the bar shortly after midnight on May 16th, saying that it “seems the individuals being targeted were in close proximity to Docksider and ran into Docksider to seek refuge therefore our business was affected.”

“Docksider is cooperating fully with the BPS in this matter,” they added, saying they “are thankful no one was injured” and “hope the perpetrator will be brought to justice and dealt with accordingly.”

Footage is circulating which apparently depicts the aftermath of what appears to be shots fired in Docksider early this morning, and while it has not yet been officially confirmed by the police, they will be holding a press conference later this afternoon, which we will carry live on Bernews Facebook page.

Update 2.43pm: The live video replay of the Police press conference is below

A Docksider spokesperson said, “The management of Docksider can confirm that an incident took place at the bar shortly after midnight on May 16th.

“The incident itself was unrelated to any patrons that were in the establishment at the time. Unfortunately it seems the individuals being targeted were in close proximity to Docksider and ran into Docksider to seek refuge therefore our business was affected.

“Docksider is cooperating fully with the BPS in this matter. The police have been provided with CCTV footage from our state of the art system.

“This is the first incident in 25 years of operation that comes even close to this level of seriousness. It has come as a complete shock to all our staff and patrons alike.

“We are co-operating fully with the police and hope the perpetrator will be brought to justice and dealt with accordingly. We are thankful no one was injured.

“We do not and have never condoned anti social behavior and will strive to make Docksider the safe establishment it has always been considered.”

  1. The Dark Knight Returns says:

I’ve said it many times why are there one or two squad cars operating out of the islands most busiest police station? The Top Cop, Governor and Government should be ashamed of themselves. This matter happened a couple of blocks from the Police station. If these people getting paid so much money cannot manage a fleet of cars they should be fired and persons put there that can actually see that the officers have the cars and tools to do their job more effectively.
