Column: Parish Pride Cleanup Project Continues
[Written by MP Chris Famous]
Over the last few weeks, our Devonshire and Smith’s Parish Pride Project has cleared the following areas of excess vegetation: Vesey Street, Green Acres, Devon Springs Road, Devon Springs Lane, and Jubilee Road.
This has been accomplished with cooperation from area residents giving of their time, local businesses providing water and trash bags and Public Works Department [PWD] providing power tools.
Over the next few weeks we will be tackling these regions that are in need of some attention:
- Orange Valley Road on Saturday, October 13th
- South Shore Road on Saturday, October 27th
Of note, Butterfield and Vallis Ltd will be helping to coordinate, staff volunteers, refreshments and trucking of debris for our Orange Valley Road clean up. We will be working from Devonshire Post Office 9am-12 pm if anyone wishes to join us.
All tools, water, refreshments and working gloves will be provided.
Assistance for Seniors
As the secondary part of our Parish Pride Program, we will also be assisting Devonshire and Smith’s Parish seniors with their grass cutting or small hedge trimming, completely free of charge.
If you are a senior in need of assistance or know of a senior needing any of these services, please feel free to contact me so we can schedule a time to come by.
If you wish to assist in any of our above mentioned endeavours, you can feel free to reach out directly to me via email carib_pro@yahoo.com or via Whatsapp at 599-0901.
Thank you in advance.
