Fat Tire Massive Bike Admiralty House Results
The Fat Tire Massive Family was given a treat today [Jan 6] as RMS Boat Works, one of the season sponsors, took on course design for this particular event.
“Over the past few months, they have re-cleared old paths and created new routes to make one of our oldest race venues a brand-new epic experience for all,” a spokesperson said.
“Twisty single track with berms, roots, tough climbs and challenging descents were all blended into the existing course seamlessly. The most exciting feature was a steep temporary bridge at the top of a long climb which took all the competitors’ power and skill to conquer.
“In the Male Open Class, two former competitors returned to do battle. Adam Kirk and Dominique Mayho took on the course with gusto, leading the field of 25 for most of the race. Dominique took the win, with Adam second, and young Alexander Miller about two minutes behind him for third.
“Ashley Robinson finally faced a challenge in Female Open Class from the very fast Caitlin Conyers. Ashley’s smooth flowing skills ultimately paid off on the technical track, giving her a mere 25 second lead at the finish for another 25 points.
“In Novice Class, Manning Smith proved that his Lagoon Park victory was not a fluke. He set an amazing pace on the first lap, and ran away from the pack. He managed to finish three minutes ahead of the second-place racer Jason Piney. Sherman Darrell, the current Novice points leader, rounded out the top three.
“Thanks as always to our sponsors, RMS Boatworks, Arch Re, BF&M, One Communications Ltd, and our newest sponsor, Goslings. For full results, point standings, schedules and all cool things mountain bike related in Bermuda, remember to visit www.Fattiremassive.com.”
