Bermuda Athletes Win 10 Medals In Barbados

Members of the Bermuda track and field team continued competing in the Barbados National Junior Championships at the Barbados National Stadium.

A total of 10 medals were won on the day, which included 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Nevaeh Barclay won a bronze medal in the under 13 girls 100 meter dash clocking a time of 14.05, Butterfield Peets was fourth stopping the clock in 14.07.

In the under 15 girls 100 meter dash Keelia Dudley was 8th with a time of 13.72, with Chiaje Rudo 16th clocking 14.20.

A silver medal was won by Denver Tucker during the under 15 boys 100 meter dash when he clocked 12.29.

During the under 17 girls 100 meter dash preliminaries, Massassi Smith advanced to the final after finishing 8th clocking a time of 13.00, while Jahstice Grant finished 13th with a time of 13.56.

Chayse Turner advanced to the under 17 boys 100 meter dash final after clocking the third fastest time of 11.31 during the preliminaries, Anaya West was 11th with a time of 11.90.

Zakayza Parsons advanced to the under 20 girls 100 meter dash final after she clocked the fifth fastest time of 12.36 during the preliminaries, while finishing 13th was Nhoaa Powell who clocked 13.10.

During the under 20 boys 100 meter dash preliminaries, Suresh Black advanced to the final with the 6th fastest time of 11.16, while Mikal Dill finished 14th with a time of 11.49.

Adrina Argent picked up a silver medal competing in the under 17 girls 1500 meter run when she clocked 5:15.23, Jezhari Talbot was 4th with a time of 5:25.59 and Jaeda Grant was 5th in a time of 5:26.32.

Jauza James claimed the under 17 boys 1500 meter run bronze medal when he clocked 4:37.89, Jayson Simons was 10th with a time of 4:57.59 and Jaelyn Grant was 11th stopping the clock in a time of 4:57.74.

Kemauri Darrell finished 7th competing in the under 15 girls 400 meter dash clocking a time of 63.81, while Timothy Lightbourne won a bronze medal during the under 15 boys 400 meter dash clocking 57.74.

Sancho Smith finished 4th during the under 17 boys 400 meter dash when he was clocked in 50.52, while during the under 17 girls 100 meter dash Massassi Smith finished 8th with a time of 13.07.

During the under 17 boys 100 meter dash final, Chayse Tanner finished 4th with a time of 11.27, while Zakayza Parsons finished 4th in the under 20 girls 100 meter dash final stopping the clock in a time 12.58.

In field events, Timothy Lightbourne finished the under 15 boys long jump in 5th place with a leap of 4.64m, while Jaelyn Grant finished 6th with a leap of 4.17m.

A silver medal was won during the under 17 boys discus throw 1.5kg as Razi Garland finished second with a top toss of 28.55m.

Katherine Bean Rosario won the junior girls shot put 2.75kg gold medal with a top toss of 9.20m, Dominique Brown won the silver medal with a toss of 8.80m.

Chause Tanner won the under 17 boys long jump gold medal with a top leap of 6.73m which saw him meet the qualifying standard for the Carifta Games.

Denisha Warner won the under 20 girls high jump bronze medal with a leap of 1.45m, while Dominque Brown won the junior girls javelin throw 500g gold medal with a top toss of 22.72m.
