January 11, 2011

The Chewstick Foundation presents Part II of its 3-part Seminar Series on Songwriting. In Part I, participants were introduced to 5 powerful techniques that can be used to transform a good song into a hit song. Several hit songs in many genres were examined and the qualities which made them hits were revealed and discussed. Participants ranged in age from 14 to 50+ years of age and each was inspired to create powerful and dynamic songs, while eagerly awaiting the next workshop.

Part II is aimed at empowering the Artist in terms of knowing their rights, protecting their music and generating income from music. It will cover ways to protect your music and abiding by international laws and best practices. We will also discuss ‘local habits’ with regards to the use of songs (Intellectual Property) in Bermuda and how these local practices contrast with international regulatory bodies, expectations and norms.
