Man Hospitalised After Motorbike Accident

061 accident[Updated] Just past 2am this morning [Mar.27], a bike accident at the the junction of Cavendish Road and Lane Hill which saw the rider rushed to hospital with injuries described as serious.

A Police spokesman said, “Around 2:15am on Monday, March 28th 2011 Police attended a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Cavendish Road and Lane Hill in Pembroke.”

“Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at the moment; however a male motorcyclist was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.”

“Apparently his injuries may be serious but they are not believed to be life threatening at this time. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”

Update: Further Police information, saying the man is 33 years old, and collided with a sidewalk.

Around 2:15am on Monday, Police attended a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Cavendish Road and Lane Hill in Pembroke.

It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Lane Hill when the rider, a 33 year old Pembroke man, collided with the sidewalk at the junction.

The Pembroke man sustained serious head and facial injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries while serious are not believed to be life threatening at this time. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
