Like Father Like Son: Brown Jr Graduates From Howard

Ewart ‘Trey’ Brown recently graduated from Howard University in Washington D.C, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television and Film.

Mr Brown is the son of former Premier Dr Ewart Brown and his former wife Priscilla Murray Brown. Prior to attending Howard University – his father’s alma mater – he attended Francis Patton, Harrington Sound and Bermuda Institute.

Family and friends from Bermuda, Los Angeles and Detroit attended the commencement ceremony, which was held on May 14th. The commencement speaker was Marc Morial, President and CEO, National Urban League.

When giving Howard University’s 142nd Convocation Address in 2009, Dr Brown said, “In addition, Mr. President, there are two young men who may be here today simply because they like the family scholarship they receive each semester and have no intention of losing it by being absent when their old man speaks on their college campus.”

“My sons, Donovan and Trey are here. They have grown up to my preaching the virtues of a Howard University experience — Yes, a Howard University experience and not a Howard University education. There is a distinct difference.”
