TNT will televise the PGA Grand Slam of Golf to 88 million U.S. households, and it is seen in more than 100 countries.

PGA Grand Slam of Golf champions include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Ernie Els, Tom Lehman, Ben Crenshaw, Greg Norman, Nick Price, Ian Woosnam and Angel Cabrera.

The 29th PGA Grand Slam of Golf will be hosted by the Bermuda Department of Tourism, Port Royal Golf Club and the Fairmont Southampton.

  1. Biggest Hypocrites says:

Bet you will see OBA out in full pledge force hob knobing with the golf celebrities and then next week complain about tourism dollars not be spent wisely. Look for Michael Dunkley taking photo ops, Jeanne Atherden and the OBA executive and members. You judge who are the hypocrites??????

    • Got to go says:

Really? You had to make the sale of a golf match tickets political?

  2. ap says:

the event hasnt even happened yet and big hypocrites like you are already talking smack.. way to go! i see that you dont care for change on this island.

and btw, the grand slam of golf is a great “free” marketing blitz for the island and it speaks to itself

    • your joking says:

actually…..think Bermda put in 1.4 million to host the event…….love watching the best in the world play in our back yard….However do believe this money could be better spent on hosting a series of smaller tournaments like Goslings Invitational that actually bring in foreign players plus wives and friends….putting the Grand Slam on tv does not exactly translate to visitors….it can nevery really be measured…but 10 $100,000 touraments will bring in a couple of thousand players/visitors and would get more exposure from publicity and word of mouth from the players themselves.

    • Biggest Hypocrites says:

Free, what free lunch are you speaking of? Its people like you who want to fool the public that all is wrong in Bermuda and all the fault lays at the PLP steps. But OBA Dep. Leader Dunkley, OBA Dep. Chair JAtterden has part took in those tax payers dollars, which you and Tony B says is wasted tourism dollars. Get your head out of the mud

      • ap says:

not anywhere do i read or know of that we paid to bring the PGA here and if i am wrong please tell me where you read it to.

@biggest hypocrites, is it a free lunch just like the new education consultant your government is bringing in?? And not once did i say anything about all being wrong in bermuda and everything being the PLP’s fault… those inner feelings are starting to show!

        • your joking says:

From Royal Gazette January 28 2011 1.5 million

Tourism Minister Patrice Minors was on hand at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando to make yesterday’s announcement alongside PGA of America president Allen Wronowski, and Minors said she was thrilled with the decision. “Several years ago, we made it one of our top priorities to attract a televised golf event that would deliver the world’s best players and showcase Bermuda as a first-class golf destination,” said Minors. “The PGA Grand Slam of Golf was fruits of our hard work and determination. “Now four years later, our relationship with the PGA of America is one that has grown from strength to strength, and we are so pleased that we are continuing this special partnership into 2011 and 2012. “I am absolutely thrilled to be here to officially announce that Bermuda will once again be hosting the PGA Grand Slam of Golf at the Port Royal Golf Course.” In the past not everyone has supported the Government’s decision to spend the reported $1.5 million that it costs to host the event, but Minors said that the exposure Bermuda received through the Slam was priceless.

          • PEPPER says:

Patrice is full of #$%^ how the hell does she say… that $1.5 million that it cost to have the grand slam is good exposure to bda ? we need bodies here for this event….not TV adds….hell we are having a hard time to get local volunteers to help out at this event !!!! I predict this will be the last grand slam held in bda .
Paula Cox, if you care about bda please resign and let the O.B.A.try to get us back on track…..The thought of Rolf Commisiong. and Lavern Furbert, and Zane Desilva being a part of your progressive Govt scares the hell out of we right thinking people…..

  3. Advocating for Truth says:

Ask Tony B, if the gran slam is free to Bermuda also ask Dunkley why he supports this and moans and groans. Dunkley really knows how to play the race card even in sports.

  4. Terry says:

    Bwahaaaaaaaaa

Betcha the PLP (Palming Little Perks)will be there.

    OBA? Old Balls Advantage…..

    FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
