September 12, 2012

Dr Neil Burnie is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating a camera that contains a number of wildlife photos he took on a trip last month to Guadalupe Island in Mexico.

Dr Burnie — well known for his work as a veterinarian and with the Bermuda Shark Project — left the Canon EOS 60D on a dock in Flatts on August 28th while he was was out snorkelling with friends. The camera was missing on his return.

The camera contained a LEXAR 64 gig SD card, with some images that that he has yet to see, including photos of Bull Elephant Seals, White Sharks and Blue Whales.

Dr Burnie shared a couple of images [above] from the Go Pro video camera that was attached to the Canon U/W housing, but said all the “cool still shots” are in the camera on the 64 gig card.

Anyone who can return the camera to Dr Burnie will receive a $500 reward, with no questions asked. His contact number is 536-2965, and he would greatly appreciate any assistance that anyone may be able to offer.
