Kathmandu Kids Club’s Christmas Market
Bermuda’s Kathmandu Kids Club will be staging their annual KatKids Christmas Market on Friday [Nov 30] from 5.30pm until late on the fourth floor of the New Washington Mall.
The festive and exotic evening is organised by the Kathmandu Kids Club, a community fundraising group of dedicated volunteers who raise much needed funds for the Bermuda charitable venture the ISIS Foundation.
Haggle with Jon Beard in their famous Live & Silent Auction and bid on some hand picked, authentic and original items from the Pearl of Africa – Uganda & the Himalayan village, Kathmandu.
Enjoy mulled wine and Christmas carols while you stroll through a variety of themed market stalls shopping for special gifts. The Market will be full of Nepalese & Ugandan arts, crafts, jewelry and this year, make sure to visit the new incense shop, silver ship and tea shop the tea tastings.
2012 will showcase the largest selection of treasures the Market has ever seen. With a $10 cover charge, all net proceeds will go directly to the ISIS Foundation Projects.
Quick Bites will be supplying the food and entertainment will be provided by Vibe 103FM′s DJ Chubb, Bermuda Donquili Dance Group and the Bermuda School of Music.
The Kathmandu Kids Club is a unique volunteer fundraising group that was formed to help raise money for the projects of The ISIS Foundation, an international development organisation, working with communities and local partners to promote the wellbeing of children and families in Uganda and Nepal.
Through their projects they aim to give children and families the opportunity to live happy, healthy and productive lives. In particular ISIS believes it is essential to build strong foundations through improving basic health, nutrition and education in severely disadvantaged communities.
By focusing on children, both directly and through their families, they hope to break the cycle of poverty and dependence affecting these communities. The ISIS Foundation has touched the lives of tens of thousands of people in poverty since it was founded in 1997.
