November 19, 2012

Young Nyle Trott was the winner of a brand new iPad from iClick on Reid Street in TECHART 12, the digital created art show recently held in the Bermuda Society of Arts Gallery in City Hall.

The show, now in its 6th year, was jointly sponsored by AAC Saatchi & Saatchi, iClick and The Complete Office and was held from 19th October – 7th November 2012. There were over 150 entries, 77 of which came from students in the under 12 category.

Nyle Trott with his parents, Alison Ince, General Manager of The Complete Office and Peter Hebberd, Vice President of AAC Saatchi & Saatchi:

Peter Hebberd, Vice President of AAC Saatchi & Saatchi comments: ‘We are pleased to partner with iClick and The Complete Office to support local talent at the annual TECHART show. As a creative company, we are continually championing great design and new technologies. The standard of the entries has improved year over year and this year were exceptionally high, especially in the students under 12 category.”

Adds Mr. Hebberd: “ We were very pleased with this and would like to make special mention of the photography and art teachers at Purvis Primary, Somersfield Academy and St. David’s Primary for supporting their students and encouraging their evident talent.”

Nyle, a student at Somersfield Academy, received his iPad for winning the People’s Choice award for his “Perspective Blue.” He credits his photography club teacher Ms. Osborne for being his biggest inspiration and can’t wait to download lots of games and movies.

Additional winning entries were Earl Jones in Adult Digital Art, Andrew Stevenson in Adult Digital Photography, Danielle Clarke in Student Digital Art, Zariah Tucci in Student Digital Photography and Gabriel Jones in Students Under 12 Digital Photography.

In keeping with new trends, a new category was introduced his year for iPad art and this winner was Christopher Marson. First, second and third place winners in all categories received Apple products from iClick on Reid Street.

Well done to all students who entered! Especially to their teachers and parents for their support of Art. We in Bermuda need to embrace and support art more. We are lacking more visual art in Bermuda especailly the City of Hamilton.
