Liquor Sales Jump 10.4%, Car Sales Up 20.6%

Sales of motor vehicles jumped 20.6 per cent in January 2014, while liquor stores reported a 10.4 per cent jump which was attributed to Sunday alcohol sales.

Total retail sales in January 2014 increased 1.1 per cent, and after adjusting for the annual retail sales rate of
inflation, measured at 0.8 per cent in January, the volume of retail sales increased by 0.3 per cent.

Consumers spent an estimated $75.3 million on retail goods during the month, residents returning to the Island declared overseas purchases valued at $4.2 million, which contributed to a combined local and overseas spending total of $79.5 million.

    Give the senior citizens a break, we did not support the countries enormous debt while to opposition of the day looked on.

    If the Government put up the tax in booze by 10.4 % and lower the tax on cars by 10.4 % .

    Every day taxes kill progress, Bermuda is to expensive but you know that.

    Just like they used to do in the UK the the Government would increase pensions at the same rate as they increased the price of coal.

    How do you win friends and influence people , Tax them !
