Sun Life Congratulates Island Games Athletes
Sun Life Financial International today commends all the Bermuda athletes who participated in the NatWest Island Games this week, which saw Bermuda collect 16 medals, including five gold medals.
Andrew A. Darfoor, Senior Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer, Sun Life Financial International, says, “We would like to congratulate the athletes and teams who won a medal during the Island Games this week.
“We are pleased to have played a small part by sponsoring the uniforms for the Bermuda team and want to acknowledge the entire Bermuda team who travelled to Jersey and competed in the NatWest Island Games.”
Bermuda’s medal winners
Sun Life Financial was a lead sponsor of Bermuda’s cohort for the NatWest Island Games 2015. As part of the sponsorship, Sun Life Financial International provided the uniforms that more than 100 Bermuda athletes wore for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as for travelling and official team business. In addition, Sun Life Financial International provided hats and t-shirts for the athletes to wear during training.
The NatWest Island Games were held in Jersey from June 27 to July 3. The first Island Games were held in the Isle of Man in 1985 to provide an opportunity for hundreds of young sportsmen and women from small island communities to compete and enjoy international competition against other islanders with similar standards of performance. The NatWest Island Games were held in Bermuda in 2013.
I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of Bermuda’s athletes who’d participated in the NatWest Island Games this week, which saw Bermuda collect 16 medals…(Five are gold medals!)
