Basketball League: Flyboys & Court Kings Win
The Cellone Island Basketball League continued inside the CedarBridge Academy with 222 points scored on the night.
The opener saw the number one seed Twisters go down for the third time this season with the Flyboys coming from behind to claim a 68 – 63 win.
In the first half the Flyboys had no answer to the league leading scorer Kevin Stephens as he was scoring from all over the court eventually scoring a game high 30 points, however the Flyboys got a well-balanced all-round performance from the team which was led by Kieron Burgess who scored 24 points.
In the second game a Greg Bell lay-up with 5 seconds to go gave the Court Kings a one point win over the Hoopstars 46 – 45 to get their 7th win of the season and take the #4 spot in league standings, moving the Hoopstars back to the #8 spot.
Kameron James scored a game high 16 points for the Court Kings, while Calvert Lee scored 15 points for the Hoopstars.
