Princess Completes $100M Renovation Project
[Updated with video] Hamilton Princess & Beach Club today [June 30] announces the completion of a $100 million, three-year renovation project that they said has added “luxury, contemporary features to the historic landmark property to meet the needs of today’s traveller.”
This third, and last, phase introduced a new gym last month and the hotel today announces the opening of the exhale spa with indoor and outdoor space and renovated pool, a new retail corridor, large outdoor terrace for the Trudeau Ballroom, new Fairmont Gold private lounge and remodeling of the Fairmont Gold Wing private lounge suites.
Exhale, an award-winning spa from New York City, will open to the public on July 5. It offers nine treatment rooms and a new poolside pergola, next to a renovated pool, for outdoor fitness classes and activities.
The spa offerings include a nail salon, waxing, massages and a variety of facials. Both male and female therapists are available as is a couple’s room for those interested in a couple’s massage. For more information about the spa and its services, visit www.exhalespa.com/bermuda or call 298-6046.
Also new to the hotel is the expanded retail space. Covering 7,000 square feet, it features FH Boutique and Resort Boutique, the newest additions to Luxury Gifts Bermuda, a high-end men’s and women’s fashion boutiques that exclusively carry international brands in Bermuda as well as local products.
The retail corridor also includes Astwood Dickinson selling fine jewelry and watches, the official Americas Cup store and The Sunglass Shop.
Above the retail space now sits a sweeping 2,000 square foot terrace with views of the harbour and marina. The terrace leads straight out of the Trudeau Ballroom [formerly Fairmont Gold Lounge] to provide outdoor space for the elegant event room.
In addition, a new Fairmont Gold private lounge is now available to Fairmont Gold guests. The completely renovated Fairmont Gold private wing features a 1,600 square foot outdoor terrace, a Fairmont Gold private lounge complete with honour bar, cocktail hour canapés and some of the hotel’s most picturesque views of the harbour. The 11 suites now boast new furniture, fixtures, audio/visual capabilities, modern décor and deluxe bathrooms.

“On behalf of the Government of Bermuda, I would like to congratulate the family, hotel management and staff for transforming this historic gem into one of the most exciting hotel destinations on the island,” continued Minister Fahy.
“Tourism is an important part of Bermuda’s economy and it’s hard to think about tourism without mentioning Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, the Official Hotel Sponsor of America’s Cup and home to the first celebrity chef restaurant in Bermuda.”
“This is monumental occasion for Hamilton Princess & Beach Club as we relaunch our hotel following $100 million renovations,” said Allan Federer, General Manager, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.
“The team has completely transformed the space into a chic, luxury destination that we believe will compete with many leading resorts across the globe. Today’s luxury traveller wants to feel pampered in the most understated way and we’re pleased to boast that our hotel now offers many facilities and services that resonate with this new generation of traveller.”
This final phase of the renovations also included the installation of new furniture in the lobby, AC unit upgrades in various areas, additional guestroom enhancements and new bathroom facilities by the Trudeau Ballroom. Botelho Wood Architects designed the upgrades throughout the hotel.
The three-year renovation project included the introduction of a state-of-the-art marina, new resort infinity pool, renovation of almost all guestrooms and suites, introduction of two new restaurants and rebranding and upgrade of Crown & Anchor, remodeling of the central courtyard and the introduction of one of the world’s best hotel art collections.

BUT its a shame that you have invested millions of dollars in your hotel, that we need an all terrain vehicle to get to. The company that trenched the road outside your hotel should be made to come back and make repave it. Its horrible to drive along that road..
I love the new layout of the hotel. I was sad to see the koi pond gone, only because I have pictures of three generations of my family over the years taken there.
I love 1609 this time of year! Its a great bar / restaurant. Not a large menu but I can always find something on it. I havent tried the Marcus restaurant but I will in 2 weeks time.

So great to see this!! The hotel is beautiful, especially all of the artwork, I’ve seen so many guests stop and admire it.
But please can you tell your restaurants to turn their live music down? I’d say 90% of the people that I know that have visited (Marcus’ in particular) have complained that they can’t even hear their neighbor talking to them! I had the same experience when visiting for Sunday brunch. The band themselves though are great.
Believe less of what you hear and even less of what you see. They investing in themselves not Bermuda or its people. A great percentage of there staff in managerial post are foreigners. The only jobs good enough for Bermudians there is turning beds. No faith in our own to promote and sell our country and be paid fear enough to do so. Stay woke!
