Football: North Village, PHC & Robin Hood Win
The North Village Rams, PHC Zebras, and Robin Hood all walked away with wins in this weekend’s Premier Division football action.
Boulevard Blazers 2 – North Village Rams 4
At the Police Field, the Boulevard Blazers went ahead early with a goal from Ian Coke, however the North Village Rams bounced right back with a strike from Shayne Hollis.
Hollis was brought down inside the box and he dusted himself off to convert from the spot to give the North Village Rams the lead in the 23rd minute, Hollis would complete his hat-trick with a strike from just inside the box in the 30th minute.
Three minutes later it was 3 – 2 when the Boulevard Blazers were awarded a penalty, Coke’s spot kick came back off the upright but was slammed home by Sergio Robinson. The only goal in the second half came off the boot of Hollis as he converted his second penalty of the day in the 86th minute as the North Village Rams recorded a 4 – 2 victory.
Devonshire Cougars 0 – PHC Zebras 2
At the Devonshire Recreation Club, the visitors PHC Zebras broke the deadlock after a scoreless first half when Idress Sharrieff scored in the 54th minute, the PHC Zebras lead was doubled in the 85th minute when Cecoy Robinson converted from the penalty spot to earn the PHC Zebras a 2 – 0 win over the Devonshire Cougars.
Dandy Town Hornets 1 – Robin Hood 3
At the St. John’s Field an early goal from Antwan Russell gave Robin Hood lead in the 7th minute, but that was erased with a Angelo Simmons equalizer from the penalty spot for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 10th minute. Neither team would find the back of the net for the remainder of the half as they went to the break deadlocked at 1 – 1.
The second half saw Russell add his second goal of the game this time from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, before Aaron Nelson sealed the win for Robin Hood with a strike in the 83rd minute as Robin Hood defeated the Dandy Town Hornets 3 – 1.
