Video: Sunday Aug 26th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the Bermuda’s U14 football team claimed three victories to win their group at the CFU Series, Flanagan’s qualified for the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame, LOM Financial is donating $50,000 to the Bermuda Zoological Society’s ‘Living Classroom,’ and one of the world’s rarest seabirds successfully nested in Bermuda after a 169 year absence were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Marshall Diel & Myers awarded legal scholarships and bursaries to Zantae Dill, Amelia Oatley and Candace Paynter, baseball player Adam Hall made the MLBPipeline Prospect Team of the Week, and Generation Next Youth Movement Series featured Cire Bean’s Payakid initiative.
Other good news stories included Architectural Digest highlighting Bermuda, Zeiko Lewis scoring twice for HK Kopavogur in Iceland, Dante Leverock and his JK Navra Trans team advancing in Estonia, a Zumba Masterclass fundraiser held to benefit Keep Bermuda Beautiful, and Lamar Samuels and Andre Durham Jr. receiving Concordia Maritime Scholarships.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Fire Officers Passing Out Parade, the Lepercq Martial Arts Memorial, Premier and First Division cricket action, the BBA Winners Edge Criterium, a Zumba Masterclass charity, the Junior Fishing Tournament weigh-in, and the championship winning footballers getting certificates.
