MindFrame PhotoVoice Art Exhibit To Open
The MindFrame PhotoVoice Exhibition will open at the Bermuda Society of Arts this evening, Friday 19 October, from 5pm to 7pm.
A spokesperson explained, “This is an exhibition of art, photography and poetry by people who use mental health, substance abuse or intellectual disability services at the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute. The art and photography each have commentaries that give insight and inspiration into the creative process and how we each see the world differently.
Interview with Kevin Dill:
“Artist and service user Kevin Dill, who has a painting of winged warrior women, called Valkyries, in the exhibition notes that the show is more than just a display. ‘It is nice to see what goes on in someone’s mind and see how that evolves into a painting,’ he says.
Interview with Andrew Williams:
Andrew Williams, who has a sketched self-portrait, painting and photographs in the exhibition adds: ‘When something lightens me, I take a photo of it.
“I have a lot of pieces on the exhibition, but my favourite one is my self-portrait. We as MWI clients have gifts and talents that we would like to be seen and if you’d like to come see it – come!’”
