Carnival Costume Workshops On Nov 17 & 18
NOVA Mas International will be hosting Carnival Costume Production Workshops on Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18.
A spokesperson said, “The purpose of these workshops will be to introduce Bermudians to the world of carnival costume design & production.
“Workshop participants will be equipped with the knowledge and basic skills that are required to create carnival costumes. Budding designers who participate in the costume design workshop will learn how to create a basic full carnival costume design.
“It is undeniable that the costumes that revelers wear are beautiful; however, these workshops will also provide attendees with insight on the history and culture behind the mas production and design.
“Nova Mas all sees this as a potential economic opportunity for participants to develop their skills and possibly generate income for themselves in the future should they become involved in Carnival production for any of the local bands.
“Nova Mas not only seeks to provide the best carnival experience for its revelers, we also seek to inspire and educate on the history of mas culture and the Carnival experience we have come to enjoy today.
