The two USTA championships will build on the club’s tournament successes from 2018 and aim to bring hundreds of overseas tennis players to the Island in 2019. Top local players will also have the opportunity to shine on the club’s famed clay courts and spectators will be treated to a variety of authentic Bermudian experiences.

The Coral Beach & Tennis Club has a long and rich tradition of hosting elite tournaments such as the XL Tennis Open, and the club is aiming to spearhead the resurgence of tennis in Bermuda.

Nik Bhola, General Manager of the Coral Beach & Tennis Club said: “We are proud to be hosting two prestigious USTA tennis championships in 2019. In April 2018 we held the first USTA tournament with former French Open winners competing for the championships. We are looking forward to hosting even bigger USTA tournaments in 2019.”

Bermuda Tourism Authority Director of Sports, Hazel Clark said: “Tennis is a popular pastime for visitors and locals in Bermuda so naturally the Bermuda Tourism Authority is happy to invest in the 2019 Bermuda Breeze Tennis Tournament.

“The team at Coral Beach expertly delivered the inaugural event and we expect the 2019 tennis tournaments to take the sport to the next level out here. Ultimately, events like these help all of Bermuda grow in prominence as a sport tourism destination – and that is our overriding goal.”
