Court: 31-Year-Old Man Denies Assaulting Police

A 31-year-old Pembroke man was charged with assaulting a police officer at a football club.
Cecoy Robinson, a well known local footballer, denied the offence. A police sergeant was at the club grounds on April 20 when it is alleged that Robinson attacked him.
His next court appearance is scheduled for May 13.
On a related note, a BFA spokesperson said they were aware of the incident that allegedly occurred at the All-star Match at Goose Gosling Field on Saturday night involving National Academy Coach and Senior National Team Player Cecoy Robinson.
“Cecoy was detained on the night by the Bermuda Police Service and subsequently appeared in Court. The Association views this matter very seriously and is gathering information regarding the incident. As the matter is currently before the Courts the Association will not make any further comments specific to the incident or the legal proceedings,” the BFA said.
“The Association will be speaking with all relevant stakeholders to provide them with all the necessary information as it becomes available.”
