“To kick off the month and in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day, Tomorrow’s Voices will be “Lighting It Up Blue” on Tuesday, April 2. The community is encouraged to either wear blue or light up their homes with blue bulbs in support of Autism Awareness. Participants are invited to take a picture and tag @tomorrowsvoices.

“On Friday, April 5, the community will have the opportunity to contribute funds to help the charity continue its beneficial work at the 11th Annual “Autism Tags It” tag day. Donation buckets will be manned across the island and no amount is too small. For those who prefer to donate from the comfort of their homes, donations can also be made on the charity’s website at www.tomorrowsvoices.bm.

“Along with providing different fundraising opportunities to support the charity throughout the month, Tomorrow’s Voices will also be raising awareness about Autism and the therapies that it provides through their Autism Centre. One of the highlights of the month’s activities will include the Tomorrow’s Voices training institute workshop: “Building Bridges: Social Development for Individuals with Autism”.

“This virtual workshop, which takes place on Wednesday, April 17, is a must-attend for those educators, health professionals, parents and others in the community that work or interact with children with autism or those with developmental disabilities. For more information about the workshop, visit www.tomorrowsvoices.bm or by calling 297-4342.

“On Friday, April 26 the charity will be hosting its signature event – the 11th Annual “Autism Rocks Socks” Day. This is the day where schools, corporate organizations and the community put on their crazy, wacky socks for autism and make either a $2 or $5 donation to the charity. This is a fun way to support the charity and do something while also having fun.

“Participants can show their support by posting photos to social media and tagging #autismrockssocks or @tomorrowsvoices. Tomorrow’s Voices will be selling wacky socks again this year through their Sargasso store for pick up or delivery options. Schools or companies interested in supporting Autism Rocks Socks, can call 297-4342 or email info@tomorrowsvoices.bm to register. Donations can be made through the website www.tomorrowsvoices.bm.
