Saltus Head Of School Attends G30 In Canada
“Attending the G30 earlier this month was an opportunity of a lifetime,” said Saltus Head of School Deryn Lavell.
Recently invited to be part of this prestigious conference, Ms Lavell spent several days with the Heads of leading schools from around the world to discuss the future of education.
The G30 brings Heads from leading schools around the world together on an annual basis. All participants are encouraged to share their best practice, thoughts, ideas and challenges within a strictly confidential environment. The conference programme is organised by the current Head of the G30. Guest speakers are invited, not just in the field of education but in a broad range of pursuits.
At the 2019 event, guest speakers included Dominic Barton, Global managing partner emeritus of McKinsey based in London England; Janice Stein, Belzberg Professor of Conflict Management, Department of Political Science and founding Director of Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at University of Toronto; Naheed Bardai, Head of Upper School, UCC; and Dr. Greg Wells, PhD in physiology, author, exercise medicine researcher at Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, CEO and Founder of The Wells Group.
“Participants also benefited from working with psychologists, Rob Evans and Dr. Michael Thompson” said Deryn Lavell. “We discussed topics pertaining to education on a global scale including innovation in learning, student leadership, and programme development to ensure success of students and teachers for the future.”
One of the most important aspects of the group, however, is the connections made with educators and the people in the business of education around the world.
The G30 conference was held 29th April – 3rd May in Toronto Canada.
