Cost Of Minister DeSilva’s Cruise Experience Trip
A trip in August 2019 by Minister of Tourism and Transport Zane DeSilva for a ‘Cruise Passenger Experience Observation’ from New Jersey to Bermuda cost $3,888.41, according to a recent listing on the Government’s travel webpage.
The trip duration was listed as from August 24, 2019 – August 29, 2019, and the web page listing said, “The Hon. Minister Zane DeSilva, JP MP travelled aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ship Anthem of the Seas from 24th through 29th August 2019.
“While on board the Minister monitored the way Bermuda is presented to cruise passengers, including, but not limited to, recommendations for attractions, shopping and tours.
“Upon disembarking in Bermuda, the Minister experienced, as a tourist, what passengers encounter with regard to transport options available around Bermuda. His mission was to get to Horseshoe Bay Beach, Crystal Caves, the City of Hamilton, the Town of St. George’s and Tobacco Bay by using public bus and ferry services along with private taxis.
“The knowledge gained from the Minister’s trip will be used to shape future cruise ship and transport policy.”
