Governor John Rankin Purchases First Poppy

Governor John Rankin purchased the first Poppy from Carol Everson of the Bermuda Legion Charity and World War Two Veteran, Donald Jolliffe.

Government House posted the photos below on Facebook, saying: “On the morning of Tuesday, 13 October, the Governor welcomed Carol Everson of the Bermuda Legion Charity and World War Two Veteran, Donald Jolliffe, to Government House.

“The Governor said he was honored to once again purchase the first Poppy of the annual fundraising drive which provides assistance to our Veterans. It is important that we remember the great service given and assist our Veterans by supporting Poppy Day.”
