This week, Ministers David Burch and Jason Hayward announced a groundbreaking new project focused on helping Bermudians get jobs. It’s called the ‘Economic Stimulus Programme Employment Initiative’.

As you know, The Government is engaged in economic stimulus that shovel ready projects – construction and maintenance – all across the island. We are hiring dozens of Bermudian-owned firms to carry out that construction. But, these firms need talented Bermudian workers to fill open positions.

Most of these firms are also Bermudian owned. So far, 93 of the 98 Bermudian-owned firms that applied to be part of the economic stimulus programme pre-qualified for work. And, thus far, 6 projects have started and 11 additional contracts have been awarded. In total, 17 projects were given to Bermudian-owned firms. And now, we’re helping them hire Bermudians.

We want to help connect you to those jobs! And, we want to provide you with the training so you can fill those jobs.

If you need a good, steady job, we’re here to help. You can register at the Bermuda Job Board, upload your most recent resume there to help us connect you with prospective employers. If you’re a company, you can register there as well. If you’re a job seeker or a talent seeker and have any questions, please call 297-7714.

Together, we can get Bermudians back to work!
