Police Execute Warrants, Seize Quantity Of Cash
Police executed a number of drug warrants today [Feb 9] “resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of cash.”
A spokesperson said, “Police today, Wednesday 9th February, 2022, executed a number of drug warrants in support of this past weekend’s ‘Operation Pegasus’ initiative.
“Officers from the Bermuda Police Service Drugs Unit, Tactical Support Division, and the Criminal Investigations Unit, led by Police Sergeant [Ag] Jerry Waterman, executed warrants at residences in the Eastern and Western Parishes, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of cash, under the Proceeds of Crime Act.”
Detective Chief Inspector Sherwin Joseph of the Specialist Investigations Department provided an update on items seized during last weekend’s exercise saying, “We have now received confirmation from our Senior Government Analysts that some of the substances seized during this weekend’s operation contained the controlled drugs Cocaine, Diamorphine [Heroin] and Fentanyl.”
“We continue to appeal for anyone with information surrounding illegal drug activity to contact us by calling 211 or the main police number 295-0011 or, the confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477. Speaking with a police officer with whom you are familiar is another means by which you may provide information to us.”
This issue of Fentanyl is of great concern , mainly from the standpoint of safety for the user but does anyone have any stats on the crystal meth situation here ?
Communities overseas are having terrible problems with the havoc caused by meth addicts as they become violent zombie like killers and thieves who have no regard for anyone or anything to fuel their addiction.
History will look back on moments such as these and be forced to congratulate drugs for winning the war on drugs. A different approach is needed to keeping drugs off the streets other than them just being illegal. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. All this will do is push the price up and open up space for new dealers.
