Former Bermuda forward Ralph Bean Jr has been appointed as head coach of Premier Division side X-Roads.
Bean succeeds former head coach Komeini Talbot, who will continue to serve on the club’s coaching staff.
A stalwart for North Village during his playing days, Bean spent 2½ years as head coach at Bernard Park after replacing Shaun Goater in January 2013.
The 42-year-old guided Village to the FA Cup final in his first full season, losing 1-0 to Dandy Town.
The son of Village and Bermuda legend Ralph Bean Sr, Bean retired from playing in 2017; however, he did continue to turn out in the Corona League for Village and then Footy Kings.
A statement on the X-Roads Instagram page read: “X-Roads Warriors FC is pleased to announce Ralph “Gumbo” Bean Jr as the new Head Coach for the Premier Division team. Welcome aboard, Gumbo, we’re looking forward to a great season!!”
X-Roads, promoted for the first time in the 2017-18 campaign, secured their place in the top flight on the final game of the season with a 3-1 win at home over Somerset Trojans in April.
They finished eighth in the table, with 22 points from 20 games.
