Andrew Green said: “It gives my family great pleasure to award scholarships again this year, to assist 10 promising young Bermudians. We are confident that the pursuit of a higher education provides our young people with a path to attaining a degree, as well as an expanded world view – their opportunities can be limitless.”
The Green Family Scholarships are awarded to recipients, in partnership with Knowledge Quest Ltd., a Bermuda charity, on the basis of need and academic capability. Priority is given to applicants who demonstrate a clear commitment to their community and a love of learning. Each scholarship is valued between $10,000 and $20,000 per year, for up to four years of post-secondary education.
Since its inception in 2007, the Green Family Scholarship programme has aided more than 160 Bermudian students in their goal of studying overseas and has awarded more than $2.45 million.
Andrew Green continued: “Each of the recipients are quite accomplished and we wish them successful journeys in their 2022 academic studies.”
This is simply wonderful to see.
A commitment to education from the Green Family with a cumulative total of over $4.5 million. That potential rivals the Centennial Bermuda Foundation. Congratulations to all involved. In particular the Green family is taking a long term approach by creating pathways for Bermudians.
Thank you to the Green family for, once again, giving back to our community. Many of these students would not have the opportunity to continue their education overseas without this support and every child, in my opinion, is truly deserving!
