Why was a town hall meeting held last week at Clearwater School in St. David’s with another meeting were Mr. But and Mr. Roban was attending another meeting at a nearby venue.
    Bermuda…sold out by PLP!!

  2. never ever says:

about the last country in the world you want to listen to their problems even outweigh ours and inadequate Service used to be the hallmark

    • Joe Bloggs says:

      Why do you say that?

Bermuda and the Bahamas have a long history together. Both Bermuda and the Bahamas have local currency tied to the U.S. dollar, not Caribbean dollars. There are lots of common matters between Bermuda and the Bahamas.

      • WillSee says:

The bahamas…. their government debt,10 billion dollars, has been downgraded to Junk!
        Totally incompetent political leadership.

      • Question says:

Crime, corruption, poverty, gangs. That’s the Bahamas.

      • PBanks says:

Because it’s cool for some to hate on formerly colonized nations especially those in the Caribbean. Of course if the delegation was British royals they’d be giddy.

        • sandgrownan says:

The reality is that the bulk of the Caribbean is third world.
Great to visit, beautiful resorts, but outside of that poverty, hardship, enormous debt, incompetent leadership and dare I say it a healthy amount of pocket lining.

          It’s nothing to aspire to.

  3. question says:

So are they here on official business to meet the Bermuda government for some reason, or are they here on personal business to attend the private PLP events this weekend?

Or are they doing both, in order to get Bermuda’s taxpayers to pay for their expenses here while they visit?

    • sandgrownan says:

I think you know the answer. Private Jet too…..

      • question says:

Borrowed Bermuda taxpayer money being used to fund private parties and lavish travel for Bahamian politicians.

I think you know the answer. Private Jet too…..

  5. Kim Smith says:

I would like to know how much the Premier of the Bahamas knows about Bermuda such that he can make any statement about Bermuda’s fears about going independent. How much does he know about a country of 24 square miles when his jurisdiction is an area of 13,880 sq. kilometers = 5,360 sq. miles?

    • mixitup says:

You sound silly… And he’s the Prime Minister, not the Premier, shows how much you know.

  6. Ringmaster says:

The Bahamas has massive debt, shanty towns, a Moody’s rating that would prevent any IB to be domiciled there, and is under the thumb of China (like Barbados and Jamaica). They are not Independent. Probably just as well the PLP have given so many residents PRC, as they would get the vote in an Independence referendum, which was the reason given for having term limits which the PLP never continued because of the jobs drain it created.

    • Mixitup says:

Thank you for your ‘insight’ Ringmaster, you’ve painted a full rounded ‘fair’ picture of the Bahamas. Smh.
