Kaden Hopkins has taken a major step in his bourgeoning cycling career after joining professional team Vendee U in France.
Hopkins moves to Vendee U, a Division One development outfit for Team TotalEnergies, from Equipo Essax, the elite under-23 team of the Sax Cycling Club in Spain.
Team TotalEnergies compete as a UCI ProTeam in Continental Circuits races and the World Tour when invited as a wildcard entry.
Hopkins has enjoyed a superb season, representing Bermuda at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where he came eleventh in the time-trial and fourteenth in the road race, and the UCI Under-23 Road World Championships in Wollongong, Australia.
The 22-year-old continued his stellar year at the Caribbean Road Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, last weekend, winning the men’s elite and under-23 individual time-trial titles.
