Video: Episode 2 Of Black History Month Series
In recognition of Black History Month, the City of Hamilton has created a series of educational videos highlighting sites in the City that “are significant to the legacy of Black Bermudians and the building of our City.”
The second episode of the series focuses on Dr. E.F. Gordon and his impact on the rights of Black Bermudians. You can view the first episode by clicking here.
Well done but let’s ensure that the non pr details are not forgotten. What do we mean. The small bust on Union Street of Dr E.F. Gordon has been allowed, over the years, to be hidden because the hedge was not trimmed. A private citizen had to cut it. 2nd the Gombey Mural hung precariously on the wall leading to TCD is the dumbest placement in the world along with plaques highlighting history makers placed on the ground and people walk right on them unconsciously showing disrespect. Unbelievable. You can’t make this stuff up.
