Thirst Bermuda To Showcase ‘Cocktail Culture’
Burrows Lightbourn is introducing “Bermuda’s first cocktail month; Thirst Bermuda 2023,” with the company saying they are “looking to invigorate and increase appreciation of cocktail culture on the island.”
A spokesperson said, “During the month of April, a host of bars/ restaurants will showcase their spirited creations for the island to sample and vote.
“In addition to the delicious creations available, a mixture of entertaining and educational events are being promoted. These include a sustainability seminar, agave & grain tasting, a black & white cinema viewing, jazz night, bartender-led cocktail class and an art installation.”
“We believe that Bermuda has so much more to offer, not only in regard to hospitality but in regard to creativity” said Ezekiel Stoneham, Burrows Lightbourn Ltd. “The creation of Thirst Bermuda comes at an ideal time, when we see consumers reverting back to classic cocktails with a twist”.
A spokesperson added, “The cocktail month will be rewarding restaurants and bars with a number of awards which include the People’s Choice, Overall Winner, Locally Sourced Award, Influencer Award and a Prize for Sustainability. The judges will consist of various stakeholders which include Dion the Creative and the Beyond Plastics team.
“A part of all event proceeds will go to Urban Garden Project supported by Fun Camps BDA. With over 20 bars/ restaurants involved and over 50 cocktails available, Burrows Lightbourn Ltd plan to make Thirst Bermuda an annual event.”
