Dr. Norma Jean Hendrickson Award
“Dr. Norma Jean Hendrickson believed that educated children were the instruments by which success would be measured. She served in various levels of education: teacher, principal, and also Assistant Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education. This year’s recipient of the Dr. Norma Jean Hendrickson Award is Miss Chemaj Rayner. Miss Rayner, a graduate of CedarBridge Academy, will be attending Bermuda College in September to pursue her Associate of Nursing.”
At the prize giving ceremony, Sigma Xi Omega member Ms. Diamond Binns who presented on behalf of Sigma Xi Omega Chapter, stated “Chemaj is an excellent candidate for this award as she exemplifies the true essence of striving to excel in her educational endeavors. Chemaj spends her spare time volunteering for the St. John’s ambulance and is passionate about helping others.”
Geraldine Lambert Award
“Mrs. Lambert was a lifelong educator, a firm believer in community service, and an active senior soldier with The Salvation Army. Right up until her passing she believed that academics and a vision for service were the tools for laying a solid foundation. This year’s recipient of the Geraldine Lambert Award is Miss Vanessa Daley. Miss Daley, a graduate of The Berkeley Institute, will be attending Bermuda College to pursue an Associate of Arts and Sciences.”
Sigma Xi Omega Chapter Scholarship Committee Chairman, Ms. Necheeka L. Trott, who presented at The Berkeley Institute Prize-giving stated, “It’s truly inspiring to see Vanessa’s hard work and dedication paying off. This achievement not only represents her dedication to academics but also highlights the immense potential and capabilities she possesses”.
