Golf: 2023 Goodwill Tournament Gets Underway
The 2023 Goodwill Bermuda Pro-Am tournament got underway at three golf courses.
Belmont Hills Golf Club
The low net for the day was the Tree Farm team of pro Drew King, Ivan Blinoff, David Margolis, and John Shimp who shot 13-under par 57, David Mattinson, from the St. George’s Hill Golf Club had the longest drive on 12, while Tom Freeman, from the Shoal Creek Club was closest to the pin on 17, and King from Tree Farm leads the pro stableford points with 25.
Port Royal Golf Course
The Rhode Island Country Club team of Jeffrey Evanier, Bob Savoie, Mark Miller and Dean D’Onofrio were the low net leaders with a round of 13-under par 58, Dwight Spence from The Lakes Golf Club had the longest drive on number 5, while Brady Whittingham from Riverside Country Club was the closest to the pin on 13, and Craig Thomas has 22 points to lead the pro stableford points.
Mid Ocean Club
Another round of 13-under par 58 sees the Connecticut Golf Club 2 team of Peter Ballo, Mike Nelson, Andrew Lipman and Bill Cusick as leaders, Kelley Nittoli from San Antonio Country Club 1 had the longest drive on 15, while Mike Bloom from the Jupiter Golf Club was closest to the pin on 17, and Peter Ballo from Connecticut Golf Club 2 is the pro stableford points leader with 25 points.
