Video: Sunday Feb 18th “Good News” Spotlight
News that three new local products became available on BermudAir flights, the Hamilton Princess will honour Dr. Terry-Lynne Emery, Dr. Carika Weldon, and Dr. Malcolm Brock for Black History Month, Bermuda students excelled in a writing competition, and Clarien donated more than $130,000 to charities were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Hospitals Auxiliary of Bermuda volunteers donated over 28,000 hours of service in 2023, a couple returned to the island for their 50th anniversary, United is extending its Newark to Bermuda airline service, and Stephan Johnstone’s SJD World marked its 20th year.
Other good news stories included swimmer Emma Harvey breaking multiple Bermuda records, Caitlyn Bobb being named Performer of the Week again, Aaliyah Nolan scoring for Bradford City, Caitlyn Bobb breaking the 500m school record, Scott Barnes winning the Masters Class in Florida, boxer Saundre Simmons earning a stoppage win, and footballer Knory Scott being named Man of the Match, all highlighting another week of exceptional performances by the island’s athletes.
