Traffic/Road Notice For St David’s On March 29
The Ministry of Public Works announced road closures for the upcoming St. David’s County Cricket Club Bicycle, Go Kart, and Motor Go Kart Races scheduled for Friday, March 29th, 2024.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the St. David’s County Cricket Club Bicycle, Go Kart, and Motor Go Kart Races will occur on Friday, March 29th, 2024, between 4:00 pm and 4:45 pm. The following roads will be affected:
Race Route:
“The races commence on Mount Road at St. David’s Lighthouse around the turn-around area. The participants continue on Mount Road and turn left onto St. Luke’s Lane. They traverse St. Luke’s Lane until they turn right onto Texas Road. The racers then make a right turn onto Great Bay Road. They continue on Great Bay Road to the finish line at the St. David’s Country Cricket Club.
Traffic Control:
“The bicycle and go-kart races will begin on Friday, March 29th, 2024, at 4:00 pm, and the go-kart races will commence on Friday, March 29th, 2024, at 4:00 pm and are expected to conclude by 4:45 pm. The race route will be controlled by Race Officials and Police Officers.
Road Closures:
“The following roads will be closed during the event:
- Mount Road
- St. Luke’s Lane
- Texas Road
- Great Bay Road
“All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collisions with race participants. Motorists are asked to follow the instructions given by the Race Officials and Police Officers to assist with traffic control for this event.
Parking Restrictions:
“There will be parking restrictions along the following roads:
- Mount Road
- St. Luke’s Lane
- Texas Road
- Great Bay Road
“Motorists are advised that there should be no blockages along the race route.
Residence Access:
“During the races, residents will have restricted property access. Race Officials will be responsible for granting access to the affected properties.
“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result. “In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorised to “Close off” streets or portions of streets and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
