Trott And Lindsay Claim 10K Victories

Sean Trott and Gayle Lindsay moved closer to the overall men’s and women’s titles in the Swan’s Running Club Legend Series after claiming victories in the Ludwig Cann 10K Road Race in Warwick today [April 7].

Trott, who won the Ed Sherlock 8K Run in February and the Ray Swan Flat 8K last month, crossed the finish line in 34min 56sec.

Adam Prunty came second in 35:19, and Will Green placed third in 37:16.

Meanwhile, Gayle Lindsay, who took the women’s honours in the Ed Sherlock 8K and the Ray Swan Flat 8K, was the first female finisher, coming sixth overall in 38:29.

Christine Dailey was runner-up in 39:14, and Teresa Ruiz came third in 43:09.

In the 10K Competitive Walk, Paul Hayward came first in 1:09:10 with Frankie Harris second in 1:19:43, and first female finisher Gilda Cann third in 1:22:54.

Featuring four races, the fourth leg of the series will be the Bermuda Healthcare “Sir” Stanley Burgess 5K in Devonshire on May 5.

The Legend Series aims to celebrate Bermuda’s race legends. Participants must compete in a minimum of three of the four races.

The male and female runner accumulating the most points is the overall winner. There are also age group winners in the Open [20-39], Masters [40+], Seniors [50+], Veterans [60+] and Legends [70+] categories.
