Erica Hawley Finishes 13th In Uzbekistan
Erica Hawley has boosted her chances of qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer by finishing thirteenth in the elite women’s race at the World Triathlon Cup Samarkand in Uzbekistan today [May 18].
Hawley, 24, improved her chances of securing one of the 55 spots in the Paris field after finishing the standard-distance course [1,500-metres swim, 37.5km bike and 10k run] in 1hr 55min 37sec.
Her splits were 20:07, 57:03 and 37:04.
Lena MeiBner, of Germany, won the race in 1:52:49, with Jessica Fullager, of Britain, second in 1:52:52 and Tilda Mansson, of Sweden, third in 1:53:09.
