Under 23: FC Bascome & North Village Win
The Bermuda Football Association’s under 23 league moved into the first round of the knock-out cup at the BAA Field, which saw a double-header produce 9 goals.
FC Bascome 2 – Devonshire Colts 0
In the opener, FC Bascome defeated the Devonshire Colts 2 – 0. Ben Ossett gave FC Bascome the lead in the 3rd minute and they took that 1 – 0 lead to the break, Osset would double the lead in the 88th minute earning them the win.
Somerset Trojans 2 – North Village Rams 5
The North Village Rams defeated the Somerset Trojans 5 – 2.
The North Village Rams took the lead in the 6th minute when Jakeem Jennings scored, the lead was doubled in the 20th minute with Tokia Bean finding the back of the net, and three minutes later it was 3 – 0 when Daion Swan-Desilva got his name on the scoresheet for the North Village Rams. The Somerset Trojans would pull a goal back in the 29th minute through Rio Russell, but four minutes later Tiago Correia restored the North Village Rams 3 goal advantage, the North Village Rams went to the break leading 4 – 1.
In the 73rd minute, Swan-DeSilva extended the North Village Rams lead to 5 – 1 when he scored his second of the match, but in the 81st minute, the Somerset Trojans closed the gap to three when Najee Edwards scored to make it 5 – 2.
