News that the Department of Sport and Recreation’s Summer Day Camp Program Team won the PSEA award, ABIR members will host 108 paid summer interns, the Bermuda National Trust’s annual awards were presented and DaRock footballers helped a Keep Bermuda Beautiful clean up on Collector’s Hill were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, more than 100 KPMG staff contributed $10,000 in services and materials to WindReach Bermuda for their Make a Difference Day, Bermuda defeated Jamaica and Guatemala in Davis Cup action, Robin Horsfield ranked top 10 in Canada, Adam Hall starred in a big win for the Biloxi Shuckers, Scott Barnes is happy after achieving two podium finishes, Carey Olsen congratulated Erica Hawley for qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, and Dennico Hollis helped Stenhousemuir to a win.
Other good news stories included the 38th annual Denton Hurdle Memorial Awards being held at Warwick Academy, the Southampton Parish Council offering scholarships for the 2024/2025 academic year, and Somersfield Academy announcing that Khwai Mendoza and Roman Jones earned Equity & Merit Scholarships.
