Tennis: Mixed Day For Bermuda In ITF/COTECC
The 2024 ITF/COTECC Under 12 Team Competition got underway in the Dominican Republic, with a mixed day for the Bermuda teams.
The Bermuda Boys won their opening match against the Bahamas 2 – 1.
Manuel Maldonado gave Bermuda the lead by winning the first match 6-4, 6-0. Oliver Anderson fell in the second match – which lasted two hours and 15 minutes – 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
It came down to doubles, where Anderson and Maldonaldo took to the court and won 6-0, 6-1.
The girls lost 2 – 1 to the Dominican Republic One team. Arianna Parra fell in the first match 6-0, 6-1, but Lee Terceira brought Bermuda level after winning the second match 7-6, 1-6, 6-4.
Ella Metchnabel and Terceira took to the court for the doubles, falling in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
