Arts Centre To Host Open House & Book Signing
The Bermuda Arts Centre will host an open house on Sunday, September 29 from 1.00pm to 5.00pm, featuring the Fall Open Members’ Juried Show, live painting, and a book signing by Peter Barrett.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Arts Centre invites you to their open house this Sunday [September 29] from 1.00pm to 5.00pm, coinciding with the launch of their Fall Open Members’ Juried Show. This exhibition showcases a stunning variety of works from 20 different artists, featuring everything from classic historical oils to playful, functional mixed media pieces.
“The collection spans a range of themes, guiding viewers through industrial landscapes to vibrant bursts of florals, making it difficult to choose where to linger.
“Adding to the day’s festivities, the Bermuda Plein Air Group will be painting around Dockyard from 9:00am to 12:00pm, capturing the area’s scenic and historic charm. Visitors to the gallery will have the chance to meet the artists, engage in conversation, and even purchase artwork directly from the easel. Their interpretations of the surroundings always reveal the beauty of the location through fresh eyes.
“Author Peter Barrett will also be in attendance, signing copies of his new book Virginia and Bermuda, Colonial Siblings from 12:00pmto 2:00pm. He looks forward to sharing his extensive knowledge of the Sea Venture, its passengers, and their continued journey to Virginia. The book offers a fascinating exploration of Bermuda’s history, making it a must-have for local history buffs. During the signing, the book will be available at a special price of $35.
