It is a good thing there is no enforceable law against what the cycle rider was doing.

I only hope he is not seriously injured.

Enforsable laws always tell you all of what you can not do, and do not solve every problem.

Driving with you eyes closed and you brain in neutral usualy ends in disaster .

May be those big trailer trucks and busses could take it a little easy !

Try a little common sense which works for me !

There goes another green bottle off the top of wall.

        “Enforsable laws …”

I hope you are not referring to the Road Traffic Act, which the Bermuda Police Service stopped enforcing 20 years or so ago. Or the motor car regulations that used to require prisms on headlights so they did not blind oncoming traffic

    Sheer madness .

It’s clear that the tractor trailer swung a wide left in order to swing back right and up the hill to south shore. This means that the trailer driver in effect had to cut back across the same lane that he exited (as he swung left). Therefore, he should have been watching his mirrors for this exact same reason.

This looks like the same trailer that just earlier decided to load equipment outside of BI and shut down rush hour traffic on one lane with no regard for traffic. Clearly had zero care in the world about everyone else sitting in over a mile of traffic waiting.

This same company, perhaps the same truck, drives around often doing 50 + and cutting corners, touching curbs. Seen this truck taking many chances this summer as I’ve followed it. Only a matter of time before something like this happened. Driver always seems rushed and mildly aggressive.

It would be interesting to know how this crash happened.

No matter how it happpened everyone should give large vehicles extra space. You don’t know what it is like to drive a large vehicle until you have driven one. This applies especially to bikers. Extending a little courtesy to large vehicles and the space they need can make the difference between finishing your trip on your bike or going for an ambulance ride.
